【Makenaizo Message from Chikako-san in Kanagawa Prefecture】
Since Chikako-san has kindly posted her heartfelt message & the cute pictures of Makenaizo on her own FB Timeline, we’d like to share her post on makenaizone FB page, too!
“These are Makenaizo which are cute elephant-shaped hanging towels made by the affected people by the big earthquake. This elephant was born in Kobe back in 1995, and this wonderful project has been relayed from Kobe to Tohoku for the past 18 years so as to create the job and the motivation in life of the people in devastated area, and now many people in Tohoku area are making Makenaizo, being encouraged by this project and trying to step forward in the post 311 days. Actually I met Makenaizo through one of my friends, and I got so touched by the background of Makenaizo, and I myself decided to buy these elephants so as to be of any help for the sufferers of the earthquake & tsunami. The elephants that arrived at my house are made in Ishinomaki, Rikuzentakada and Ofunato. This elephant made by towel is very baby-friendly, good as a toy for my daughter, and she enjoys playing with it so much! Even though my daughter is too small to understand the story of Makenaizo now, however I’d like to tell her about 311 & Makenaizo when she gets older, and I hope that she would be the girl who is considerate for those who are trying so hard to step forward in the difficult situation, and I am praying that the recovery efforts will make much more progress by the time my baby becomes a teenager.“
— Lots of thanks to Chikako-san for her very warm thoughts, and we are totally sure that her heartfelt wishes and the strength never to give up will be succeeded to her daughter going forward.
We are looking forward to her continued support for Makenaizo Project!
