【東京在住の まけないぞうサポーター 最上沙紀子さんからのお便りです】
先日、ガーナからのお客さまにまけないぞうをプレゼントして 東京駅の前で写真を撮りましたので、お送りいたします。
帰国直前でしたので、袋のままの撮影になってしまいましたが素敵な笑顔の写真です！
この方は アフリカのガーナで学校の先生（社会）と弁護士をしている青年 ビスマルクさんです。
ご自分の教え子がガーナからの AFS 交換留学 第一期生 （ 2013-14 年、 愛知県半田市 ) であったこと、また、「チョコレートと青い空」というガ―ナからの農業研修生についての物語を当時ガーナ大使夫人だった二階恭子さん（元 AFS 交換留学生）が英語に翻訳なさったものを教材として使ったこと、などのご縁でこの度 10 日間ほど日本に見えました。
今はチリに移動された二階さんからのご依頼で、私が日程調整や受入のお手伝いを致しました。
『チョコレートと青い空』の著者の堀米さんは、宮城県角田市在住で、ガーナからの農業研修生を受け入れたご経験から この本を書かれました。
今回、ビスマルクさんは堀米さん宅に数日ホームステイして 沿岸部の被災地域も案内していただき、ガーナ帰国後はご自分の生徒さんや 皆にその様子を是非伝えたいとおっしゃっていました。
そこで、被災者の方々が作られたまけないぞうさんを私からプレゼントしたところ、とても喜んでくださいました。
また、ご自分の教え子が半田市でホームステイをしたホストファミリー宅にもお世話になり、とても素晴らしい経験をして帰国されました。

【 Message from Ms. Sachiko Mogami, The Makenaizo Supporter in Tokyo 】
I am pleased to send you the picture of our guest from Ghana with Makenaizo Elephant right in front of Tokyo Station! Since he was on the way back to his country when this picture was taken, Makenaizo Elephant was still in the plastic bag. His name is Bismarck, and I was very happy to help him with his travel arrangements by the request from Ms. Kyoko Nikai who has made the English translation of “The Chocolate and The Blue Sky”, the story about the agriculture trainee from Ghana while she was staying in Ghana as the wife of the Ambassador to that country. Bismarck is a teacher of Social studies as well as a lawyer back in his country. He stayed Japan for about 10 days this time to visit Kakuda City, Miyagi Pref. to see Ms. Horigome, the author of the above mentioned book, enjoyed staying with her family and has seen the present situation of the affected areas of the coastal part of Miyagi Pref. After learning a lot about the affected areas of Tohoku region, he told me he wanted to tell the people in Ghana about what he had seen there. He also made the trip to Handa City, Aichi Pref. to visit his student’s host family (His student was the 1 st AFS Exchange student from Ghana to Japan in 2013-2014. ) and hehad a really great time there!
