今日はホストファミリーの両親「お母さん」（Mom)と「お父さん」(Dad)の金婚式のお祝いの日！
ホストシスターのLoriの家で盛大にパーティが開催されました。・・・
Today, we are holding the celebration party for Mom & Dad’s 50th wedding anniversary!!
ホストブラザーのMike一家はフロリダ州からから、ホストシスターのDebby一家はバージニア州から、Dadの従妹夫妻のBethとJerryはオクラホマ州から、Loriの長女Ashleyはジョージア州から、そして私たち夫婦は東京から駆けつけました。イーストハム家の一員でいられることに本当に感謝です。
My host brother, Mike & his family drove from Florida, and My host sister, Debby & her family came from Virginia, and Dad’s cousin, Beth & her husband Jerry came from Oklahoma, and Ashley, my host sister Lori’s oldest daughter came from Georgia, and Koichi & I flew from Tokyo to celebrate this special family celebration together!! I am so much blessed to be the member of Eastham Family.
この記念すべき日に日本から夫婦でお祝いに駆けつけることが出来てどんなに幸せであるか、そして高校時代にイーストハム家で過ごしたたことがその後の私の人生にどんなに素晴らしい影響を与えてくれたかについて、皆の前で感謝を込めて話しました。
また、3.11の震災についてとても心配してくれている家族、親戚の人たちに、「まけないぞう」プロジェクトについて説明しました。

At Mom & Dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary party, I explained how much Eastham family has meant to myself and how much blessed I felt for me and my husband to be able to come. Also taking this opportunity, I explained about the story on Never give up elephants to all the family members at the party.

日本の被災者の皆さんが一針一針心をこめて作られた「まけないぞう」”Never give up elephant”に、みんなが心を寄せてくれました。アメリカでもぞうさん大人気です。ぞうさんは国境を超えて、皆に笑顔を運んでくれるのですね！
そして皆が「Never give up elephantを家族の一員として家に連れて帰るよ」と約束してくれました。
また、ホストシスターのDebbyは、「このプロジェクトには素晴らしい目的、目標があると思う。そして、その特別なぞうさんを家族に迎えることが出来たことを誇りに思うわ！」と言ってくれました。
ぞうさんの作り手の皆さん ほんとうに「ありがとう！」 「負けないで！」 アメリカからのメッセージをこめて、記念撮影です。
Everybody at the party adored & loved Never give up elephants that the affected people have made with all their hearts & hope. Yes, the Elephants have brought many smiles all the way to America, too. Everyone was very happy & proud to have the elephant as a new member of his/her family.
My older host sister, Debby said, “I think this is a good cause and we are proud to be owners of this special elephant!”
